One of Durham Flooring’s projects completed in December 2020 was carrying out flooring works to a previous Jennings Ford site so it could be transformed into a new sales centre for Motorpoint. Durham Flooring were successful in securing the tender and carried out the works on behalf of Culeth Construction.
All the flooring works were carried out and as a prerequisite RAMS were produced including additional guidelines and PPE for working safely during Covid 19 restrictions.
The process started by preparing the existing substrates with a primer Mapei Eco Prim T followed by a latex smoothing compound Mapei Tradeplan.
This was followed by installing the specified flooring products including
- Luxury vinyl tile flooring (Polyflor Expona Commercial)
- wood effect sheet flooring (Polyflor Expona Flow)
- Carpets tiles with a contrasting border tile (Burmatex Tivoli and GO-TO)
- Safety flooring hot welded and including cove and capping to WC’s and BOH areas (Polysafe Standard)
The various floor coverings helped to denote within the large open working space, separate areas and functions. The overall look that was achieved was bright and contemporary whilst being functional and durable.
